Take your pick…Champ Stinger Studs or Champ Litewate studs – both on the pink & red “Shandals”.  Actually I’m not sure what the actual name is of the golf shoes.  If you look at the ad that Alan published as seen on Golf Shoes Blog earlier, you won’t see a name as such.  (I’ve asked.) Nor to be honest do I know how you buy them, though there is a number on the ad – 00 44 (o)1545 570904.  I think you need to phone…

I’ve also assumed that they’re mostly for ladies s they were advertised in women’s golf magazines.  But again I’m not 100% sure!

A long while ago we received afreindly commentfrom Al Raddon – which is published against another post…  It read “ Hello, I have just designed a Golf Shoe and it’s Twin for the Nineteenth Hole and beyond. You can see Photographs and my advertisment on my Flickr site.”

I never got around to publishing the pictures – but I will today – in my fit to catch up with all-things-golf-shoes after an unexplained absence!

… a while back now on Golf Shoes Blog and then again when Geoff Ogilvy mirrored the twin golf shoe look.  Then I had a comment from a friend of Craig’s about how the two colour golf shoe look arose.  See Craigs own blog about this golf shoes story.

It’s a great story (I’m not sure if publishing it is inspired by sponsorship?  They are Dryjoys)  But the bottom line is that it cheers him up.  Quite right too.

If every golfer could cheer themselves up and play better because of it who are we to argue.

These rather wittily named PRO PGP05v0912R CUSTOM golf shoes are in fact called  Pro Vader – after Darth?  To be honest I don’t know what’s going on here… I had a pleasant comment  from Joan from Pescador Tailored Shoes, telling me about their golf shoes.  They make dress and golf shoes – like those shown here.  The shoes that Joan chose to illustrate her point (that spikes give the traction) actually have 16 spikes!  According to their website (where you can order your shoes after a self-measuring exercise) you can order the spikes like these or only on the perimeter – if you’re a slower, more controlled swinger.  (That must be the 12.)

Buy them now and they’re on sale at just €135.  With calf skin uppers and pig skin linings, with rubber soles, all the designs are crazy (good crazy) like these. The company seems to be Spanish, which would explain style (and the language oddnesses), though they have outlets in Hong Kong and Bangkok too.  It sounds like a fun company to work for!

Following my mention of Tip Tee Toe golf shoes (boy that’s hard to remember and type – though I bet they think it’s easy because they’re used to it!) I’ve had several comments and mails about these wedge-heeled golf shoes for ladies.

They now have their own website – not surprisingly called TipTeeToe (though the large “Patent pending” is not the usual greeting you get on a home page.  Here they tell us the advantages of the wedge – let alone the colourfulness.

They say the wedge  “creates proper knee flex throughout the swing and promotes an easier weight transfer to the back heel in the backswing and front toes in the downswing to impact.  The back knee remains flexed, thus avoiding any lock and retaining a powerful position and  having the back heel elevated at impact helps to square the hips and clubface, thus making more solid contact.”

One of the any comments that we had endorses the claims – though you never know how a cynic can sometimes think these come from PR hacks!  She said: Saw these TIP TEE TOE golf shoes at the 2010 PGA Show.  Every color imaginable. Incredible fit and comfort and available in 90 days.  At Demo Day some girl was having a great time wearing them and hitting the ball a ton. Seemed to have solid footing and looked good, too.

Another comment gives an email address for more details (see original post) but I don’t know why that’s not the one on the website (unless it was only meant for me!).

We received a comment recently on the Ben Hogan extra spike piece on Golf Shoes Blog stating ” I just found the article about the 12 spikes very interesting as I am the only golf shoe manufacturer making a fine leather welted golf shoe with the 12th spike right here in the US. There is a great deal to learn from the Great Ben Hogan.”  This was from a Warren.

So I tried to find these golf shoes and I did but the website gave no indication of where, how much or how to buy. Odd!  Warren get in touch!

These golf shoes come from William Hunt, English designer, subtitled “Saville Row” but resident in Chalk farm, NW London (At least the on-line shop is).  SoI don’t know as I don’t shop in Saville Row.

The Only Golf Slip On?

Anyway they have three styles of golf shoes: Arnie with kiltie (in white brogue or croc print black & burgundy); The Slipper;  or The Jack.  The one on the left are the Slipper – possibly the only one out there.  Golf Shoes Blog hasn’t seen one before – other than plastic-rubber ones.

Only £95 at the William Hunt store (though the crossed out price is £240) as are the other lace ups, like those seen on the right.  There’s no more spec on the web site.

First of all, check the posts with the comments… (here and here).  Two messages from Horton (one on eac post) and two from Damien who also wanted me to know who Richard Bacon was so I suspect he may be Richard Bacon but I don’t know.  It may be that they are both ficticious and punting Albartross golf shoes. Who knows.

Following on from the email I had from Equipt golf shoes founder recently and the subsequent post on these new ladies’ golf  shoes, I  ought to add what is a pretty high quality endorsement for the golf shoes.

These shoes were designed with your anatomy in mind”.  I’m sure it will ring some bells for the ladies out there with pinching golf shoes.

But a snippet of an update is the quotes I just picked up… “Fantastic shoes, extremely comfortable and stable” - said Jodie Kidd (whatever happened to her golf shoes?). “What a brilliant classic golf shoe with a contemporary twist” – said Dougray Scott.

I also read this… “They’re the best golf shoes I’ve ever seen” – Richard Bacon.  But I don’t know who Richard Bacon is!
