One Pair Of Golf Shoes: Two Choices of Golf Shoe Studs
Take your pick…Champ Stinger Studs or Champ Litewate studs – both on the pink & red “Shandals”. Actually I’m not sure what the actual name is of the golf shoes. If you look at the ad that Alan published as seen on Golf Shoes Blog earlier, you won’t see a name as such. (I’ve asked.) Nor to be honest do I know how you buy them, though there is a number on the ad – 00 44 (o)1545 570904. I think you need to phone…
I’ve also assumed that they’re mostly for ladies s they were advertised in women’s golf magazines. But again I’m not 100% sure!
Golf Shoes Blog Finally Catches Up With The Anti-Pointy-Golf-Shoe Campaigner and Golf ShoeMaker!
A long while ago we received afreindly commentfrom Al Raddon – which is published against another post… It read “ Hello, I have just designed a Golf Shoe and it’s Twin for the Nineteenth Hole and beyond. You can see Photographs and my advertisment on my Flickr site.”
I never got around to publishing the pictures – but I will today – in my fit to catch up with all-things-golf-shoes after an unexplained absence!
Alan also makes other shoes – see them at Shandals
The last golf shoe offer I posted here on golf shoes blog wasextended until February but I am afraid that I’ve been having a break formthe world of golf shoes and did not get round to telling everybody… sorry.
However – and don’t all get excited because you have to have size10.5 feet for this one – there is an amazing offer on now. Just £9.99 for a fine pair of golf shoes (Pro Am II) if you are that size. See the Stuburt golf shoe offer page. This offer is still valid for2 more days…hurry hurry..
It’s a great story (I’m not sure if publishing it is inspired by sponsorship? They are Dryjoys) But the bottom line is that it cheers him up. Quite right too.
If every golfer could cheer themselves up and play better because of it who are we to argue.
I have just received an email with the attached in it. I pass the info to Golf Shoes Blog readers so that they can enjoy the offer too. Stuburt is one of our favourite golf shoe makes an the Darren clarke shoes are amongst the best. So see if you can pick up a bargain for yourself… if you like the colours and sizes in the end of season sale! (Seemingly plentiful.) Save £70 a pair. Have two pairs and you save the price of one!
As readers may have noticed, I’ve got a bit behind at Golf Shoes Blog recently. I saved this picture of the range of Footjoy Sports golf shoes and made no notes…
Meantime, they look what we used to call “snazzy”. Obviously styled for the younger more “sporty” golfer, though I’m sure that when I check the spec, they’ve got all the bells and whistles. (Full grain leather, athletic mesh, 2 yr warranty, Stinger champ spikes, etc)
By the way the FJ site describes these as “crossover” golf shoes.
These rather wittily named PRO PGP05v0912R CUSTOM golf shoes are in fact called Pro Vader – after Darth? To be honest I don’t know what’s going on here… I had a pleasant comment from Joan from Pescador Tailored Shoes, telling me about their golf shoes. They make dress and golf shoes – like those shown here. The shoes that Joan chose to illustrate her point (that spikes give the traction) actually have 16 spikes! According to their website (where you can order your shoes after a self-measuring exercise) you can order the spikes like these or only on the perimeter – if you’re a slower, more controlled swinger. (That must be the 12.)
Buy them now and they’re on sale at just €135. With calf skin uppers and pig skin linings, with rubber soles, all the designs are crazy (good crazy) like these. The company seems to be Spanish, which would explain style (and the language oddnesses), though they have outlets in Hong Kong and Bangkok too. It sounds like a fun company to work for!
To see the golf shoes seen, in 360 degrees, look at the video.
And the sister (brother) shoes have 16 spikes to each sole too. And the best are in a white snake/crocodile effect calf skin. Fantastico! Next time…
Following my mention of Tip Tee Toe golf shoes (boy that’s hard to remember and type – though I bet they think it’s easy because they’re used to it!) I’ve had several comments and mails about these wedge-heeled golf shoes for ladies.
They now have their own website – not surprisingly called TipTeeToe (though the large “Patent pending” is not the usual greeting you get on a home page. Here they tell us the advantages of the wedge – let alone the colourfulness.
They say the wedge “creates proper knee flex throughout the swing and promotes an easier weight transfer to the back heel in the backswing and front toes in the downswing to impact. The back knee remains flexed, thus avoiding any lock and retaining a powerful position and having the back heel elevated at impact helps to square the hips and clubface, thus making more solid contact.”
One of the any comments that we had endorses the claims – though you never know how a cynic can sometimes think these come from PR hacks! She said: Saw these TIP TEE TOE golf shoes at the 2010 PGA Show. Every color imaginable. Incredible fit and comfort and available in 90 days. At Demo Day some girl was having a great time wearing them and hitting the ball a ton. Seemed to have solid footing and looked good, too.
Another comment gives an email address for more details (see original post) but I don’t know why that’s not the one on the website (unless it was only meant for me!).
These “New Age” shoes on Amazon (see our US Amazon store) are from $50 – or funnily enough they’re £50 upwards at their UK store. At that exchange rate you’d better buy them in the US.
Available in B&W as shown, brown & white as well as all black. I prefer the brown & white out of the three.
The main point of difference seems to be the oversized Big Bertha spike (right) said to deliver the ultimate in traction (along with the oversize they are asymmetrical to provides more power and performance.) They are positional – but I don’t know if that means you have to screw them in on the exact turn?
More Golf-Shoe-Tech&spec: Moisture wicking linings/breathable waterproof systems they are engineered to keep your feet dry and comfortable in all conditions/waterproof leather and “Rainsport” membrane for dryness.
What the “new age” bit is I’m not sure. They look good but only a variation on a theme, surely, apart from the spikes? Good value depending on the exchange!
We received a comment recently on the Ben Hogan extra spike piece on Golf Shoes Blog stating ” I just found the article about the 12 spikes very interesting as I am the only golf shoe manufacturer making a fine leather welted golf shoe with the 12th spike right here in the US. There is a great deal to learn from the Great Ben Hogan.” This was from a Warren.
So I tried to find these golf shoes and I did but the website gave no indication of where, how much or how to buy. Odd! Warren get in touch!
