Golf Shoes Blog had a comment on the last post about the availablity of these shoes…
“Fantastic looking shoes, but why oh why can’t we get these on UK websites? What is the point of bring out these new sporty looking shoes if half the world can’t get them? Come on Callaway give us all a fair chance
If you know of a UK website then please oh please let me know, otherwise I shall just use it as an excuse to take a holiday to the US.”
Golf Shoes Blog: It does look like there are only available in the US. Maybe soon they’ll be available in the UK. Or buy them mail order from the States

Golf Shoes Designed By Twitter? Or By Adidas As Usual?
Last January Golf Shoes Blog reported that Natalie Gublis was designing a new golf shoe/golf shoe range for Adidias. Please see that New 2010 Shoe By Gulbis post especially if you want to see her in a gold bikini.
Now the phrase has become ”Designed collaboratively with Natalie Gulbis”, which begs the questionof her input but who’s bothered… it does boast Natalie’s “personal logo” on the lace tag.
I’ve found two looks to picture within the signature range and I actually prefer the black with the feature colour pinky-purple (what did they call the colour? Hot?)… and I usually prefer the white golf shoe. There’s also a blue verion which is better with the white shoe and the colour running down the lace-up panel. And a solid red verion which is humming.
Adidas say this is a tour-level shoe combining advanced technologies with the sleek styling and intricate detailing “for a distinctive look that delivers superior performance”
The Golf Shoe Tech&Spec
ClimaProof delivers 100% waterproof protection/Full-grain leather for durability/FitFOAM polyurethane sock liner for comfort and fit/ THiNTech low profile technology for stability & feel /New THiNTech cleat brings the foot closer to the ground for exceptional grip/TRAXION secondary lugs provide extra grip/adiTUFF technology protects the toe from excessive wear and keeps the shoe looking better longer/adiWEAR delivers optimal balance of abrasion resistance, traction and flexibility (but what is adiWEAR?!) /2 year waterproof warranty.
The Natalie Add-ons = Natalie’s personal logo on lace tag/accessorizing rhinestone design on heel and tongue and the “intricate” stitching I guess.
Priced around the £55-65 mark (UK) and $100 (US). Shop around!
But before you buy check out the Paula Creamer Adidas range I’ve just seen..Probably more “special” for ladies that golf… Watch this space.

People Keep Asking Why Do You Need Golf Shoes…
You see the questions all over the tinternet (drumming up business for someone, with a link, no doubt).
So let’s answer the question of why golf shoes… from at least one angle: Because when you play golf you are realtively stationery (given your swing) but the ball is completely at rest – like snooker/billiards/pool. (Are there other games with a stationery ball?) You have to stay firmly on the ground because you’re making a comparatively big swing (compared to snooker for example) and you want maximum control and staility. When you read about golf shoes they talk about stability a lot -whilst allowing the movement of your feet, legs and weight distribution.
This is very different to tennis, football, hockey etc where the ball is travelling often toward you at a rate and you are running to get to it. (In some of those games there are penalties/free kicks when the ball is still but that’s not really the main strike in a game.)
Maybe the closest – apart from the moving ball but for the stability and grip - would be cricket or baseball. Cricket shoes cetainly have (had?) spikes as do baseball boots (as left with some nearly-seen odd-looking bar style spikes). And they are probably the most similar spikes. Could you play golf in cricket or baseball boots? Probably but….

Old Golf Clubs Yes, But Old Golf Shoes, Not Really!
Maybe there are lots of people out there with old golf shoes in the attic or in the garage. Maybe not? But if you want to find old golf shoes – I guess as a collector rather than as something to wear – where would you go? I started this line of enquiry, following a lead for vintage golf shoes only to find that they were merely listed as an appendix to some old golf clubs. The latter seem very collectable and there are sites for these should you wish to buy, sell or marvel.
And there are people looking for vintage style golf shoes – but that’s not the same as real vintage.
I remember one of my very first posts on Golf Shoes Blog two yeas ago was about Bob Hope’s golf shoes which came up for auction. I suspect that celebrity shoes would be very collectible (like all things to do with celebrity these days) but without that provenance would there be (is there) a market?
There is one website for vintage golf shoes but it’s just a placement for ads to other golf related sales. So where would you go for the real thing? eBay of course – and of course there’s always something new to see, by the nature of the site. Those pictured here are currently for sale… one day left! They are Niblicks in the original box.
As far as a market in old golf shoes goes though, I think that’s it! There ain’t one. If you want some then it’ll be pot luck. Maybe if everybody searched the attic, someone could start a whole new market place…

Golf Shoes Blog Also Had This Query…
Someone read an article on Golf Shoes blog a year ago and asked where they could be bought. Well I think that they may be out of date now! I’ve had another search and it seems that this news is from 2005…
I think that you’d have to get them from a collector! Someone somewhere will have a boxed original pair, I bet.
For those of you who missed these last year… here’s the famous “Future” golf shoes again

And “Where can I buy the C Hopper golf shoes?”
Golf Shoes Blog recieves many comments and sometimes they are genuine! I have had two – as the headings above – that have to be from a Puma PR co, surely. If they can find Golf Shoes Blog, then they can search the “interweb” for the Puma shoes.
Having said that these golf shoes do generate the most incredible amount of web traffic. Many many people out there are searching for Puma golf shoes – mostly inspired by Ryan Moore. They must love him. He said last year that he bought the golf shoes. Unheard of!
PS I’ve just seen some silver ones on ebay!

And Talking About Cheap Golf Shoes…
I’m not sure whether Slazenger are taking golf shoes seriously. I had a lot of trouble finding out anything about them from all their various websites. I’d seen some of their golf shoes that looked like a decent (though inexpensive) sports pair – as seen here… and at only £13.11 (I loved the 11pence.)
These “pro-carbon” mens golf shoes can be seen here. Another link I had has gone dead and another seemed to attack my computer!
Soare they in the business of making and selling golf shoes – or not?

Should You Buy Them? Why Not, If They Do The Job…
There are now lots of places to buy cheap (”inexpensive”?) golf shoes and there are more and more of them all the time
especially on line. Amazon being the greatest probably – but there are others.
Just look at our Golf Shoes Blog shop which is serviced by Amazon… US GOLF SHOES UK GOLF SHOES. Now I know that we have not set these up very prettily but the point remains that you can see some pretty good prices for golf shoes. (We’re not really here to sell golf shoes – just talk about them…)
These New Design Confidence II golf shoes are just £19.99 (and there are equivalents on the US site) with soft grain leather, one years waterproof guarantee, spike key (you do’tlways get that!) and this that and the other spec!
Now I know that our advice on choosing golf shoes says that you should try them on (and at the end of the day). But if you’re a starter and you want to try the game or if you want a spare pair of golf shoes for the boot/trunk of the car (I keep specs in every family vehicle as well as by the TV)… then why not?
Any contrary views? I bet the big brand makers will have…
