Golf Shoes Blog has been asked to give comments on what a new stylish golf shoe should like like and be made from. Re-interpreting the questions, let me pose them to Golf Shoes Blog readers…
Would you like to see a new golf shoe in the traditional or future mould?
What new technologies might a new golf shoe utilise?
What sort of materials would you most like to see in a new golf shoe?
What sort of design and style would grab the sytylish golf shoe wearer?
What would make golf shoe distinctive in your mind in the competitive global market?
Please send any comments to Golf Shoes Blog.
I won’t publish them immediately so look for no comments posted here. I shall save them up for one big bang after they have all been collected.
Here’s a good example of of Golf Shoes Blog’s new golf shoe shop (this one in the UK). It’s a golf shoe that we haven’t seen before but we found it at just £37 – though they hae the same marque golf shoes from just £22.
See the range of Longridge Golf Shoes, where you cana also get the whole spec&tech. Normally we’d review in more detail, but today we’re just pleased that our new golf hoe stores on-line are working properly!
The customer reviews for this particular golf shoe are mxed.
Golf Shoes Blog Has Amazon Stores For Golf Shoes Buyers in USA and UK
On the right, under the picture of my golf shoe planters, you can see two panels for our new on-line Golf Shoe Shops.
There’s one which takes you to Golf Shoes Blog’s US Golf Shoe Store and one which takes you to Golf Shoes Blog’s UK Golf Shoe Store. Both have the full power of Amazon behind them which searches out the best prices for golf shoes. Please have a look for your new golf shoes – there’s just about every golf shoe you’d ever want.
Please let us know if you can’t find what you want.
As promised (but slovenly delivered), I said that I’d try out the MGK™ magic shoe cleaner and restorer. They’ve got better pictures on their leaflets and shoemgk website but I wanted to test it myself.
So here are my Callaway Hyperbolics (see them new on Golf Shoes Blog) after half a dozen rounds in various weathers – which has all stayed outside I’m pleased to say. They may not be the worst condition – as they have done well in all weathers - but I’m going to try MGK on some other (not golf shoes – goodness forbid) too.
(Interlude: While I type this and the shoes are still dirty outside, let me remind us of the whole thing about leather getting wet through wet grass and rain and from moisture inside – always claimed as a minimum by golf shoe makers – and this can crack golf shoe leather. Generally, if you have older shoes they may be in need of major restoration and MGK claims to clean and restore and helps to repell water and dirt after a good clean. Right… off with the shoe brush and the magic shoe cleaner…)
Well first things first a little water and MGK fluid on the brush and the fluid is a sort of nuclear purple – though it says that it’s from natural products! But it did the job and pretty well too – see the before and after picture… And it was easy to do. What it says on the tin.
Golf Shoes Blog To Test New Carbon Fibre Soles From Pescador Golf Shoes… Maybe
Another curious email from Joan at Pescador – who make dress shoes and golf shoes – as seen before on Golf Shoes Blog.
This time the message may be asking me to test their new golf shoes… I think because I don’t think English is Joan’s first language. Great looking golf shoes with a twist, so I hope that we can communicate to the point of a test drive. Look at these
Businesses usually know best – they test and they follow previous or best practise to refine their offer to the market… But that’s not 100% and it’s still disappointing for Golf Shoes Blog to travel all the way to the East of London (though I enjoyed the speeed and convenience of both the Jubilee line and the Docklnds Light Railway) to find less than a handful of golf shoes at the show! Lots of clubs and lots of destinations but not many golf shoes.
Why did Callaway have such a big stand and no golf shoes? Ditto Nike and no golf shoes? How come Nevada Bob’s had just one pair of golf shoes (Hi-Tec)? To me it seems a waste not to have more golf shoes, for the space they would take up! Maybe it’s one of the failings of businesses and that it was right hand/left hand stuff between two departments? Who knows…
So what was there? And I will come back to each with a separate post…
[1] Dawgs Golf Shoes (and their other work and leisure shoes from whence they have evolved). Interesting – and Golf Shoes Blog is going to test drive them soon. Possibly a shame that they just on show and weren’t actually for sale… maybe in the future… A review of the “world’s lightest golf shoes” to follow.
[2] Shoe M-G-K (ie magic) who were promoting their cleaner/restorer/conditioner for golf shoes (and other shoes). Again I’ll come back to this with a test drive.
[3] Geox golf shoes were he ones who first alerted me to the golf show but I didn’t manage to meet up with my contact… who I have now on the telephone. I’m going to get a pair to test drive – and apparently I can walk in 3 inches of water for two hours and they still won’t let water in. I’m not sure that I want to do that but the gist is that they’re mighty water proof – and come with a two year warranty. Watch this space for more info and a Golf Shoes Blog rate and review…
How many Golf Shoes Will Be On Display At The London Golf Show?
I was first told about this show by a manufacturer who was showing the new Geox golf shoes (see on Golf Shoes Blog) at the show.
Check the Golf Show wesbite for the show details, which is at the ExCel centre, a massive exhibition space in East london.
The exhibitors range from tuition to equipment makers to retailers, golf fashions and golf institutions and there is a driving range and the chance to pick up tips, info and maybe spot a celebrity or two. Prizes and competitions are promised… I’ll be looking only at golf shoes! Apparently the world’s lightest golf shoes will be there (Dawgs)
Entrance is £10. Check transport links at their website.
Ecco Street Golf Shoes As Modelled By Fred Couples
The mean buggers who send me all the press releases from ECCO and expect free cover for all their new shoes and their endless bumpf wouldn’t send me a ladies’ pair for my wife’s emergency Xmas present (her favourite sneakers were not available and I though it would be good for her to try these – and good for ECCO if I punted them as all round great shoes). They never got me a pair – and I’m not sure that I’ll forgive them!
Meanwhile a video punting their golf shoes as now worn at the Masters by Fred Couples. Why am I so good to them?
Golf Shoes Blog Is Late With This (But I Was A Volcano Refugee!)
My cousin mailed me while I was away, asking if I’d seen the latest Poulter golf shoes… Of course Ian Poulter being what he is, he’s been on Golf Shoes Blog many times with mostly pink shoes but also with his 27 pairs. He likes golf shoes. I couldn’t get to do a piece on these new golf shoes as I was stuck in Dubai and Rome…
Noticeable in his new shoes, which the FootJoy blog tells us, “Ian Poulter unveiled an all-new FJ ICON pattern at the Masters that will be available in the coming months. Ian was integral in bringing this style to market and was the first player to wear these new performance shoes in competition”.
They say that the new “wave” pattern is “sharp, sophisticated, full of interesting detail and is beautiful in a monochrome color pattern or with a variety of available patent leather accent colors”. Of course the shole idea of the FJ Icons is that you choose the colour (that’s why IP has so many pairs)> There’llbe more details from FootJoy about these new golf shoes in the next few weeks and months.
And thanks cos, for bring these to my attention. FotJoy ought to send you a pair to sport around Sussex.
A recent comment received by Golf Shoes Blog read “I love the Parker McClain golf shoes, but can not find any where to buy them. Please advise. The web site http://parkermcclainltd.com/ shows all of the shoes but no place to buy them”.
Well I’m afraid that I can’t add to this. The web site shows nothing else but the shoes – not even a contact number! Maybe I’ll investigate further through top secret sources*… Watch this space…
