Emma Hope, Shoe Maker, In Rented Golf Shoes, Won’t Make Her Own
I read a charming piece in the Weekend FT online about Emma Hope, the shoe designer without her golf shoes … and more – but I’ll let you follow the link and read the whole thing…
But the golf shoe bit tickled me and of course is relevant to Golf Shoes Blog (rather than the deluxe shoes for which she is rich & famous wich she from making for the rich & famous). Quoting from author Tom Cox “Hope has never designed a golf shoe, since she doesn’t think she’d be able to sell to enough women, although she quite fancies doing a “soft calf two-tone correspondent brogue with light studs and a Great Gatsby-goes-to- Harlem glamour” as part of her new Hope For Men range”.
She had to buy some shoes for the game being described “They look a bit like something a policeman would wear,” Hope said.

… and here are two ideas for starters – and I’ll help more if these aren’t good enough… meantime over to you Emma Hope.
[1] Base them on a baseball boot, like the Joe Sneakerbut a bit higher. Maybe in coloured leather not suede ! I’ve just read on aforum that one bloke says all glf shoes are rubbish and they should come up the ankle – basically like a baseball boot with cleats.
[2] Start with your Chukka Sneaker Boot and think maybe add some colour.
