Golf Shoes For Tug of War
You could have seen me at the weekend in my golf shoes at the village fete. There I was in my Callaway XTT Comps – but otherwise most un-golf-like.
The reason was that I had been recruited to one of tug of war teams and I wanted the maximum grip on the grass – the secret of tugging being the ability to lock your legs straight and hold your position.
The Callaway golf shoes did fantatsically (those in the team without didn’t have the same purchase on the ground). The team did “fair”. If we’d all had golf shoes on maybe we’d have won the third leg decider!
Boy, did we all ache the next day. Some of the oppostion had to go home to bed!
