A Golf Shoe with Looks that Bite as Well!

I thought it might be worth looking a little closer at BITE golf shoes, partly because I think the designs are fun or ballsy (or both?) and partly because I’m intrigued with the orthopaedic claims from the company.  Why don’t we see more of them if they are so good for our feet; or is comfort only coming to the fore more recently.  Or dare I say it because although they provide  comfort they provide little else?!  I don’t know!  Leave a comment, if you do!

Look at what they say about this pair (Bite Crobar Golf Shoe in White/Black) – and I’m ignoring the non-functional spec and just dealing with what they call FUNCTIONAL BIOMECHANICS:  The real key to their pitch is the choice/combination of liners for “orthotic” comfort and support.

Choice of Fit & Feel: 2 footbeds and 1 liner included;1 – OS1 for superior cushioning & OS2 Ortholiner for volume control & superior support/(Plus add the liner for exta comfort)/Dynamic Fast Twist spikes deliver optimal traction, minimal impact/Torsional control in arch & heel utilizing Trufit fiberglass arch shank/Shockgrid cushioning under footbed/Properly positioned forefoot grooves provide natural foot flex/Wide toe box/Heel support counters ensure lateral stability/Low profile outsole design enhances ground feel

They are by the way in soft, full grain leather uppers

The company website says about Bite Shoes… ”Tired of playing golf in ill-fitting shoes, Dale Bathum founded Bite in 1996 when he introduced the first technical golf sandal. Cool comfort and golf shoe-like functionality made the sandal an immediate success”  They have moved on since then developing a whole range of “stylish” golf shoes.  I think they look good…
