Reuters reports Engishman With 7 Golf Shoes In Singapore
I read on Reuters that Ian Poulter has seven pairs of golf shoes with him in Singapore – where he opened with an extrordinary round, including six birdies, to take the lead in the Singapore Open on day one. And that was after six weeks off with no, or very litle, practice.
Maybe that’s the answer – less practice/more golf shoes.
Reuters doesn’t actually say why they bothered to mention the six pairs of golf shoes? Do they think it’s excessive. They used to fine you in Singapore for leaving food that you’d helped yourself to in a buffet (so they said). Do they fine you for bringing too many pairs of golf shoes to a tournament and not wearing them?
Were the 7 pairs of golf shoes all FootJoy or were there other golf shoes on trial?

Of course golf shoes are the key for anyone wanting to have stability in their game. It provides a solid foundation for their swing and allows the grip. Poulter has taken it a step further by carrying with him a pair for each day…now the question is, did he bring along the matching attire?
They were in fact all FootJoy golf shoes. We worked with Poulter to customize a range of shoes through our MyJoys program that coordinate with the current line of IJP clothing. There’s a look inside his closet/garage and some of the other shoes you’ll see this year… (Tate/Golf Shoes Blog: See November 20th post with video)
