How Big Do Golf Shoes Go?

Golf Shoes in size 13, 14, 15, 16?

I frequently read stories about guys turning up without golf shoes or being in some predicament where they have to find some oversized  golf shoes and it’s always a big problem (literally)!

So I thought I’d try and see just how big golf shoes go.  I searched Google for size 13 shoes… No problem, there were listings as long as your foot!  Ebay, Overstock (selling those shown here, the Etonic Difference 3Z golf shoe available in 13’s), and loads of on-line stores and comparison sites.  Now I cannot comment on high street or golf club stores because I didn’t have the time to check before writing – but I expect that they have to have a seriously diminished range – so this probably only applies to on-line…

Then I tried 14’s.  No problem either.  Same story though by this time some had droped out!  Even the Big4Men store topped out at 13!  But others were ahead of me - boasting size 15’s.  But the results were less lengthy…  Ok so let’s jump 15’s and look for size 16 golf shoes.  (By the way: Size 15 golfshoes are about 12 and 5/16″ (US source) against a size 9 golf shoe 2″ shorter.)

Golfshoesplus had Callaway and Ecco at size 16… and wait for it size 18 – with just Callaways left in the race.  They’re so big they don’t even appear on the measurement charts!  There was nothing at size 19 and the one at 20 must have been a mistake because even the size 12’s in that model were on back order.  Like wise specialist bigshoes also stopped at size 18 for golf shoes.  I think that by this time we’re on “special order” only territory!  And at these sizes we’re also getting confused with ladies’ (larger ones’) dress sizes! 

So the conclusion is that size 18 is about the limit for ready-made golf shoes and that’s pretty much all Callaways.
