Do Anything… Don’t Tread On My Own Golf Shoes
The new travel editor of the SFGate/San Fransisco Chronicle writes about her new role and how many shoes she’ll travel with. What ever she takes (you can read the article here), she will always include her own golf shoes. Whatever she can hire, beg, steal or borrow it won’t be her golf shoes – they have to be her own – and I quote her
“One reason I cannot travel with only one pair of shoes is that I must take my golf shoes with me. I’ll rent clubs, borrow gloves, buy golf balls, go hatless – but the shoes, they’ve got to be sturdy enough and comfy enough to go the whole 19 holes. (And yes, we will have a Golf Destinations edition later this year.)”
I totally agree… you cannot spend the time I do talking about the comfort of golf shoes and then expect to loan a different pair to play in even when away! Curiously, if she’s covering a golf tournament as a reporter/spectator, she will wear trainers. Why, I wonder doesn’t she wear her golf shoes for that? Surely the requirement is the same? PS I’m sorry not to call this lady by her name but it doesn’t appear in the article*. Nor does she mention which pair of golf shoes are so sturdy and comfortable! But then it’s a travel piece not a golf piece! Her golf shoes, above right, look good but what are they? (Picture: Susan Fornoff – *is that the editor?)
