New York Times Says Top Golfers Told What To Wear
In an article last week in The New York Times (Golfers Have Clothes Laid Out for Them). And the planning form the tips of their caps (and logos) to the tips of their golf shoes is meticulously planned for a long time.
NYT says about Woods “Golf is notoriously fickle, yet golf apparel manufacturers leave no marketing opportunity to chance. What Woods wears each day at every major championship this year has been scripted for him by his sponsor Nike since last summer. To ensure that retailers have a new design or color modeled by Woods on their shelves this weekend, Nike had its first meetings about Woods’s 2009 British Open wardrobe 17 months ago”.
And they say it’s the same for all of them. Imagine how important it ti if your guy is winning and on TV contsntly for hours and hours. Not a chance to miss.

Having said all that, I still wonder, as I commented last week after The Open: why don’t the golf shoe makers make it more obvious what shoes the players are wearing?
