I had a friendly and helpful note from a representative of ECCO about Anna Rawson, following the piece 2 days ago. Tom (as he was called) wanted to provide some additional details…
He said “Anna was officially under contract with ECCO for the 2007 season, when the picture you posted was taken. That formal relationship has since ended and while she is no longer paid by the company, Anna still frequently wears their shoes in competition. (golf-shoes-blog’s bold)
She is not alone in this, as ECCO golf shoes have been worn by nearly 25 percent of the field in some LPGA Tour events, according to Darrell Survey. There are also scores of PGA Tour players wearing the product without being paid an endorsement fee. This speaks directly to the comfort, quality, technology and style for which the brand is known.
