Do the materials used in golf shoes make all the difference?

A post script to “Choosing Golf Shoes”

Further to the earlier post about how to choose golf shoes, I thought today how the materials are so important.  Should they be point 7 (after comfort, dryness, grip, performance, style/design and price) or are the materials in your golf shoe just a factor in ALL OF THE ABOVE?

Leather, synthetic, rubber, all the new synthetics and TLA’s (as mentioned before*), combinations, etc - what’s best?  For now just add it to the list of things to come back on…

The shoe seen here is the Adidas Powerbrand Golf Shoe in white/red which (to prove the point) they say has the following materials/features*… “Powerband chassis’ unique, cradling TPU-midsole frame provides increased leverage and support for the foot, promoting greater control and power throughout the swing. Full-grain leather upper. FitFoam’s moulded PU composition contours to the foot, promoting greater lateral stability and comfort. Lightweight EVA midsole with adiPRENE®+ cushioning. Durable rubber outsole with Torsion System. Performance last. 1 year waterproof warranty.

*TLA = three letter acronym – as always used to describe some new product or system.  I prefer English and being able to understand!
