Are these golf shoes like NO SHOES? Part #1

Sam Snead played with no golf shoes…

…and that could be the way to play says orthopedic surgeon. Failing that, why not make a golf shoe that works like a bare foot?  “The key is to make the shoe and foot work as one unit,” says Dr. Steven Weinfeld, associate professor of orthopedic surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York.  “That optimizes the transfer of force from the foot to the ground.”

“If the foot is moving even a little within the shoe, you’ve got an unstable situation,” says Weinfeld, who believes that shoes without metal spikes are actually healthier, too. “Metal spikes stick in the ground, and that’s where we’ve been more likely to see injuries.”

And here are three shoes that have been said to follow that way of thinking… including lateral stability, [1] ADIDAS (Tour 360 3.0 – as previously featured), [2] ECCO (Classic GTX - also seen earlier) and [3] FOOTJOY (SYNR-G).
