Look back in time and you can see a piece on (£5000) hand made John Lobb golf shoes and there’s a lot ofpeople out there marvelling at them just now. Their angle (the folk who marvel) is what’s the best and most expensive of anything – so they love these!

But who else that we can find makes so called “luxury” golf shoes.  Well some places call Callaway luxury.  Now I have a new pair of Callaway Tour Authentic Exotic Chev golf shoes (kindly sent by the nice people at Callaway for me to review) that I’m about to put a post onto Golf Shoes Blog.  I will tell all soon but I’m not sure that I’d call them luxury(don’t get me wrong they are fantastic and beautifully made of beatiful materials and I did make everybody I met, when I was wearing them, feel the leather inside which did feel like luxury).  (The trouble was that being like a well made pair of welted leather shoes built to last they gave me blisters on my heels – just like proper shoes used to do before “wear-them-from-the-box”  arrived.)  Enough side-tracking…

Actually there has to be more side-tracking because apart from the golf shoes we’ve seen before (see them under other golf shoes brands) or the top of the range classic end golf shoes from all the top makes such as FootJoy, Ecco, Stuburt, Callaway (…wait for another to complain that I didn’t mention them) there aren’t any new ones that I can think of or find.

Oh no! Don’t tell me my jobs done and I still know so little.  No it’s not, I just have to work harder!

And never forget Michael Toschi golf shoes!  Seen on th right another version of the GI golf shoe, here in green with croc saddle with Italian calf upper, kidskin lining and ”CONTAC” outsole. Made in Italy (Does a shoe made in the “West” make it a luxury item?!)  Cost… $550.

I’ve just had two comments sent in saying what a nice guy Michael Toschi is and how great his golf shoes are.  I agree… well about the golf shoes: I’ve never met him!

The person who wrote in had met him at a golf show – so why he/she (Kim) didn’t ask him where to buy them I don’t know. But I know for a start that you can buy them on Amazon sometimes and the prices are good because they may be end of lines or surplus.  Otherwise, I’ll check out some more vendors and let you know.

If you look back at the other posts for Michael Toschi golf shoes here on Golf Shoes Blog, you’ll see how much I’ve always admired them.  I’ve never worn them so it’s only half a judgement – as fit and comfort is so critical - so I can’t vouch for them in that respect.  But from a looks & style judgement they are amongst my favourites!

Normally when we follow the trail of these beautiul shoes it ends up with me exclaiming or getting rueful about the price.. but if you go to Amazon.com now they have some sizes and some styles going for a very good price. For example these “Happy Croco Blue” verions of the G1 golf shoe are just $163.xx which is a 68% saving!  There are other styles and sizes for similar prices ($151) against the usual retail price in the $500 region!

One day…

Mind you I’m not sure what else you’d wear with these really cool shoes and I also wonder how good your golf has to be!  If you wear such stylish (and costly) shoes do you have to play equally smart golf?!
