Another curious email from Joan at Pescador – who make dress shoes and golf shoes – as seen before on Golf Shoes Blog.

This time the message may be asking me to test their new golf shoes… I think because I don’t think English is Joan’s first language.  Great looking golf shoes with a twist, so I hope that we can communicate to the point of a test drive.  Look at these

Take your pick…Champ Stinger Studs or Champ Litewate studs – both on the pink & red “Shandals”.  Actually I’m not sure what the actual name is of the golf shoes.  If you look at the ad that Alan published as seen on Golf Shoes Blog earlier, you won’t see a name as such.  (I’ve asked.) Nor to be honest do I know how you buy them, though there is a number on the ad – 00 44 (o)1545 570904.  I think you need to phone…

I’ve also assumed that they’re mostly for ladies s they were advertised in women’s golf magazines.  But again I’m not 100% sure!

These rather wittily named PRO PGP05v0912R CUSTOM golf shoes are in fact called  Pro Vader – after Darth?  To be honest I don’t know what’s going on here… I had a pleasant comment  from Joan from Pescador Tailored Shoes, telling me about their golf shoes.  They make dress and golf shoes – like those shown here.  The shoes that Joan chose to illustrate her point (that spikes give the traction) actually have 16 spikes!  According to their website (where you can order your shoes after a self-measuring exercise) you can order the spikes like these or only on the perimeter – if you’re a slower, more controlled swinger.  (That must be the 12.)

Buy them now and they’re on sale at just €135.  With calf skin uppers and pig skin linings, with rubber soles, all the designs are crazy (good crazy) like these. The company seems to be Spanish, which would explain style (and the language oddnesses), though they have outlets in Hong Kong and Bangkok too.  It sounds like a fun company to work for!

Way back in December ‘08 we made mention of Botticelli golf shoes.  And since then we’ve heard very little about their on-line activities. I had an email from them months ago entertining a new retail site in late November 2009: Well it is to all intents and purposes late November now.  I’ve mailed them for an update and I await a reply…

However there is a US site selling the Botticelli golf shoes on line already and I wonder if this is the site we’ve been awaiting. If you like you can go there now and buy these Augusta shoes for around the $650 mark.  Ostrich of course…

My contacts at FootJoy tell me in respose to my Golf Shoes Blog query (FootJoy Golf Shoes Or Not?) “Ian is most certainly wearing FootJoys! He is pretty much exclusively wearing our new FJ ICON asymmetrical pattern and recently received a large order of custom MyJoys which he wore last week to win and is wearing again this week”.

And they sent me the link to this video which shows not only Ian’s wardrobe but (stay with it for the second half) his collection of gold shoes.many are gathering dust (he should charity auction them?) bt all the new boxed ones are FootJoys in hisown colour schemes.  Could you ask for a better spokesman for Icons?I doubt it…

 - Sorry This News A Bit Old!

This may be a bit out of date now but I wanted to show the photo of these amazing looking golf shoes that ECCO sent to Golf Shoes Blog.

ECCO created the special, limited-edition Team USA and Team Europe shoes for the competition. I assume that these are the USA ones – why didn’t they send the Euro ones? 

In patriotic red, white & blue with stars-and-stripes detail, the Team USA shoe will be available to buy & they retail for $180.  They were also be available to U.S. team members and LPGA Tour staff.

If you go to Ebay looking for golf shoes and then find the vintage golf shoes (check out Ebay for Vintage Golf Shoes) you can see some wierd and wonderful old golf shoes.  The ones here I think have gone but there are others and they always seem to have a variety – ladies & gents.

This set me wondering…do people play in these? there’s an arguement to say they should be played in.  Or do people collect them?  These would look good in trophy cabinets in golf club houses.  Are there collections of these old & vintage golf shoes? (I should know…)  Of course there are arguments not to wear them and to preserve them.

I’d like to preserve this pair as seen; for which I have little info, sorry.  Some of the others are Howard & Foster – much beloved of  West Coast vintage style gurus.
